Sauk helps Rampage take control in third quarter
Mar 5, 2007 - 12:28 AM DENVER (Ticker) -- Matthew Sauk threw two third-quarter touchdown passes as the Grand Rapids Rampage posted a 44-42 victory over the Colorado Crush in the season opener for both teams.After Chad Salisbury played the first half that ended with the Rampage in a 28-20 hole, Sauk took over in the third quarter.
Sauk ignited a big third quarter, finding James Riley for a 43-yard touchdown and former NFL wideout Troy Edwards for a three-yard score as the Rampage grabbed a 41-28 lead.
Sauk completed 10-of-15 passes for two TDs. Salisbury was 11-of-21 for 76 yards and two scores.
Ronney Daniels and Timon Marshall also had touchdown receptions for the Rampage.
John Dutton threw for 299 yards, six scores with a pair of interceptions for the Crush. His favorite target was Damian Harrell, who had eight catches for 95 yards and three scores.
