Grieb throws for 250 yards in Sabercats' win
Apr 29, 2007 - 7:01 AM SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- Mark Grieb threw for 250 yards and six touchdowns as the San Jose Sabercats beat the Utah Blaze, 69-48.Trestin George returned the opening kick for a touchdown, Grieb threw a touchdown and Brian Johnson scored two rushing touchdowns as the Sabercats (5-3) took a quick 28-7 lead two minutes into the second quarter.
The Blaze (5-4) pulled within 28-27 with before Grieb found Jason Gaethers for a 33-yards score on the last play of the first half and Johnson scored his third touchdown to open the second-half scoring.
Grieb completed 25-of-34 passes without an interception and was sacked once. Ben Nelson caught 11 balls for 117 yards and three scores.
Joe Germaine was 28-of-42 for 356 yards and seven TDs, but he threw one interception and was sacked four times.
Siaha Burley and Tom Pace hauled in 13 passes apiece and combined for seven TDs.
