Dolezel's heroics help Destroyers avoid back-to-back losses

May 4, 2008 - 3:09 AM COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Clint Dolezel tossed seven touchdown passes, including a nine-yard strike to Will Pettis with 15 seconds left, to lift the Dallas Desperados to a 48-45 victory over the Columbus Destroyers on Saturday.

Dolezel completed 24-of-37 passes for 291 yards with two interceptions. A 12-year veteran, Dolezel also became the AFL's all-time leader in passing yards during the contest.

Marcus Nash hauled in 10 receptions for 130 yards and four touchdowns and Pettis made eight catches for 97 yards and three scores for the Desperados (8-1), who outscored the Destroyers by a 28-12 margin in the second half to avoid back-to-back losses for the first time since 2005.

Matt Nagy passed for 267 yards and four touchdowns and added a pair of rushing scores for Columbus (2-7), which has lost three straight games and is 0-5 against the Eastern Division this season.
