James scores 17 to lead Georgia over Virginia
Dec 20, 2009 - 9:54 PM ATHENS, Ga.(AP) -- Jasmine James had 17 points and 10 rebounds to help No. 11 Georgia beat No. 19 Virginia 69-53 Sunday.Monica Wright scored 21 for Virginia (7-3), becoming the third player in school history with 2,000 points.
Georgia (10-0) got 14 points from Porsha Phillips and 11 points and 10 rebounds from Angel Robinson.
The Bulldogs started the second half with a 12-3 run that put them up 48-25 three minutes in.
After the Cavaliers went ahead 17-15 with 10:46 to play in the half, they didn't score another field goal for seven and a half minutes, by which time they trailed 28-18.
Wright's 2,011 points left her behind only joining Dawn Staley's 2,135 and Heather Burge's 2,058 for the Cavaliers.
