Harris helps Xavier edge Temple, clinch A-10
Feb 28, 2011 - 1:04 AM Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Amber Harris had 26 points and 12 rebounds as No. 6 Xavier took a 73-66 win over Temple to clinch the Atlantic 10 regular season title.Ta'Shia Phillips ended with 18 points and 15 rebounds while Katie Rutan scored 11 points for the Musketeers (25-2, 14-0 A-10), who completed back-to-back undefeated seasons for the first time in conference history.
Xavier won the regular season conference title for the third consecutive year and will play the winner of the Saint Joseph's/La Salle game in the tournament quarterfinals.
Shey Peddy had 24 points, Qwedia Wallace added 22 points and nine boards, while Kristen McCarthy had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Owls (22-7, 13-1) who had a 15-game winning streak stopped.
