Humphrey leads Georgia over Florida
Jan 29, 2007 - 1:33 AM GAINESVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- Tasha Humphrey scored 19 points to lead No. 15 Georgia to a 77-54 Southeastern Conference victory over Florida.The Lady Bulldogs (19-4, 5-2 SEC) broke the game open with a 10-0 spurt just past the midway point of the second half to keep the Gators (6-16, 0-7) winless in league play.
Florida had pulled within 53-49 with 9:28 to play, but Georgia's Ashley Houts and Megan Darrah hit 3-pointers to spark the 10-point surge that built the advantage to 63-49 with 7:14 to go.
Houts scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and Janese Hardrick and Cori Chambers had 11 apiece for the Lady Bulldogs, who shot 59 percent (17-of-29) in the second half.
Marshae Dotson led Florida with 20 points and Depree Bowden added 12 and 13 rebounds, although she committed seven of her team's 23 turnovers that led to 32 points for Georgia.
