Oregon hosts ASU in huge Pac-10 showdown

Nov 3, 2007 - 10:44 AM No. 6 Arizona St (8-0) at No. 4 Oregon (7-1) 6:45 pm EDT

EUGENE, Oregon (Ticker) -- Oregon recorded a monumental home win last week. Now it is Arizona State's turn to make a statement at Autzen Stadium.

First place in the Pac-10 Conference is up for grabs when the sixth-ranked Sun Devils visit the fourth-ranked Ducks on Saturday.

Last week, Oregon (7-1, 4-1 Pac-10) likely ended Southern California's five-year run as the conference champion with a 24-17 win here.

Jonathan Stewart ran for 103 yards and two touchdowns for the Ducks, who did not seal the win until safety Matthew Harper's interception of Mark Sanchez with nine seconds left.

Dennis Dixon threw for 157 yards and ran for 76 and a score for Oregon, which is tied with UCLA in second place in the conference, a game behind Arizona State (8-0, 5-0).

The Sun Devils remained undefeated with their latest comeback win, a 31-20 triumph over reeling California.

Dimitri Nance rushed for three TDs for the Sun Devils, who were down 20-7 in the second quarter.

Arizona State won here in 2004, 28-13, but Oregon triumphed in Tempe the last two years, including a 48-13 decision last year.
