Predators beat Wranglers on final play

May 21, 2007 - 4:49 AM AUSTIN, Texas (Ticker) -- The Orlando Predators avoided an upset in dramatic fashion on Sunday.

Shane Stafford's seven-yard touchdown pass to Jimmy Fryzel on the final play of regulation capped a 46-45 come-from-behind victory by the Predators over the Austin Wranglers.

The Wranglers led, 45-34, with 4:12 remaining in regulation but allowed Stafford to connect with Javarus Dudley for a 32-yard score to make it 45-40 with 3:38 left. After a missed field goal by Austin's Mark Lewis, Orlando took over on its own 12 with 36 seconds left and drove the field.

The deciding score came on a 3rd-and-3 with three seconds remaining and capped a 19-3 fourth quarter for the Predators.

Stafford threw six touchdowns for Orlando (7-4) and was 30-of-43 passing for 311 yards with no interceptions.

Dudley caught nine balls, including three touchdowns, for 104 yards, while Fryzel snagged 10 passes for 104 yards and two scores. Ron Johnson, who caught 11 passes for 103 yards, rounded out the Predators scoring with one touchdown reception.

Wide receiver Otis Amey scored three touchdowns for Austin (3-8), including two rushing scores. Derrick Lewis caught one touchdown for the Wranglers and had 12 catches for 106 yards.

Austin quarterback Lang Campbell threw three touchdown passes and ran for another. He finished 28-of-37 for 252 yards and was intercepted once.
