Brigade win third straight, clinch playoff spot

Jun 9, 2007 - 4:53 AM COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Raymond Philyaw passed for seven touchdowns as the Kansas City Brigade won their third straight and clinched a playoff berth with a 47-34 victory over the Columbus Destroyers.

Philyaw completed 23-of-31 passes for 240 yards and threw touchdown passes to five different receivers.

Charles Frederick had 10 receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns and Jerel Myers added five catches for 72 yards and two scores for the Brigade (9-5), who have won five of their last six contests.

Matt Nagy passed for 240 yards and three touchdowns but was intercepted twice and sacked five times for the Destroyers (6-8), who have lost four straight games.

Freddie Solomon hauled in two touchdown receptions and Harold Wells rushed for two scores for Columbus, which trailed, 34-13, entering the fourth quarter.
