Dolezel, Armstrong help Desperados remain undefeated

Apr 1, 2007 - 4:38 AM DALLAS (Ticker) -- Clint Dolezel and Anthony Armstrong stepped up to the challenge.

Dolezel threw three fourth-quarter touchdowns and Armstrong returned a kickoff for the go-ahead score in the final minute as the Dallas Desperados rallied for a 68-64 victory over the Austin Wranglers.

In the fourth quarter, quarterback Adrian McPerhson's four-yard TD toss to Derrick Lewis gave the Wranglers (1-4) a 57-42 advantage with 12:06 left. McPherhson went 21-of-34 for 293 yards with six TDs.

But Dolezel and Will Pettis hooked up for back-to-back touchdowns as Dallas closed the deficit to 57-56 at the 5:50 mark. Dolezel completed 27-for-37 passes for 348 yard and eight scores.

After Austin's 30-yard score, Dolezel and Pettis connected once again to keep the Desperados (5-0) within striking distance at 64-62 with 1:25 to go.

Armstrong completed the impressive fourth-quarter rally with his game-winning 40-yard kickoff return with 53 seconds left.
