Mar 29, 2009 - 9:41 PM JUPITER, Florida (Ticker) -- Hanley Ramirez belted a three-run home run and Graham Taylor tossed three perfect innings in his first spring appearance as the Florida Marlins posted a 5-2 victory over the Washington Nationals.

Ramirez, who entered the game batting just .091 in Grapefruit League play, belted his third homer of the spring off Julian Tavarez in the first inning to stake the Marlins to a 3-0 lead. He finished with three hits, also collecting a single and double.

At Lee County, Florida - Chris Carpenter yielded four runs in 4 2/3 innings - the first earned runs he has allowed in 23 2/3 frames this spring - as the Minnesota Twins posted a 5-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

At Clearwater, Florida - Jon Lester yielded one run and six hits over five innings and Chris Carter drilled his sixth homer of the exhibition season, lifting the Boston Red Sox to a 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

At Kissimmee, Florida - Lou Santangelo snapped a tie with a solo homer in the eighth inning, helping the Houston Astros edge the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-2.

At Sarasota, Florida - Pitcher Scott Kazmir had three RBI as the Tampa Bay Rays pounded Bronson Arroyo for 10 runs and 14 hits in 4 2/3 innings en route to an 11-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

At Lakeland, Florida - Still recovering from a circulatory disorder that limited him to 12 starts last season, Jeremy Bonderman gave up three runs in 1 1/3 innings, including two solo homers, in the Detroit Tigers' 5-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

At Tampa, Florida - The New York Yankees overcame a rough outing by A.J. Burnett, who surrendered seven runs and 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings, to hold off the Pittsburgh Pirates, 9-8.

At Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Luke Scott and Robby Hammock homered, powering the Baltimore Orioles to a 5-1 win over the New York Mets.
